A Double E is another name for an electrical engineer. Robert Carnation is a stepfather interested in commercial jets, efficiency, and unduly interested in his stepdaughters. In five interlocking stories, The Double E, tells the story of what happened on a Friday night in 1965 when Carnation disappeared.

About the Author

The New York Times Book Review wrote of Matt Briggs’ first collection of stories, The Remains of River Names, “Briggs has captured the America that neither progressives nor family-value advocates want to think about, where bohemianism has degenerated into dangerous dropping out.” He has published four collections of short fiction including Misplaced Alice and The End is the Beginning.
